Covid-19 has impacted the world like a World War would. The first world war saw about 40 million people dead. Half of them were civilians. In the Second World War, about 75 million people died. 20 million of them were military men and the rest were civilians who died as a result of mass bombings, famine and disease. The modern world swore off fighting such senseless wars and we have only seen pockets of wars around the world since then; many of them in Africa.

COVID-19 has already had the impact of a world war. Millions have died due to the disease already. But the metamorphosis of the disease tells us that a lot more could happen. Businesses have been negatively impacted and millions of them have collapsed around the world as a result of unprecedented lockdowns and a freezing up of global trade. The New Normal that has come with this novel disease, has rendered perhaps billions of people around the world jobless or potentially redundant as machines take over the functions of people. Millions of relationships have also buckled and collapsed in this season.

This book reminds us of the impact of the disease and why we must be very perceptive of what is still evolving.
